Membership

The coalition welcomes individuals and organizations to become members who are committed to a future where every person is free of commercial tobacco’s harms.

Individual vs. Organizational Membership

  • Individual membership is designed for people who want to support the coalition’s work but may not be able to join as a representative of the organization they work for, or who may not have a specific organizational connection.
  • Organizational membership is designed for organizations that want to support the coalition’s work and have one or more staff who can participate in coalition activities and meetings.

Membership Commitments

All members commit to:
  • Endorsing the coalition’s policy priorities
  • Being listed as a supporter on coalition materials such as the website, print materials and news releases.
  • Supporting coalition priorities with your available means (e.g., communications or grassroots support, lobbying, financial support).

MSFG has several committees that any member can join.

  • Grassroots and Communication Committee (GCOMM): This committee meets monthly and is open to any member who would like to contribute to the coalition’s grassroots and communications efforts.
  • Racial and Health Equity Committee (RHE): This committee meets bi-weekly and is open to any member who would like to contribute guidance and advice on advancing racial and health equity.
  • Lobbyist Committee (LOBBYING): This committee meets weekly during the legislative session and is open to any coalition members who would like to contribute to the coalition’s direct lobbying efforts.

Membership Requirements

Members shall not have any affiliation or receive any funding from the commercial tobacco industry, including e-cigarette companies.
